First Day

I have arrived!

After a two-day drive from Tacoma, WA, I am all moved in at the Glacier Institute Field Camp in Glacier National Park, Montana. My favorite sights of the drive were probably the sunset through Snoqualmie Pass and today’s section that snaked around the western side of Flathead Lake- the first familiar and nostalgic, the latter unexpected and breathtaking. Today was a beautiful day, 70’s and sunny, and my belongings were moved sluggishly from the car to the cabin. I opted to sit on the front porch in the sun for a while before getting fully situated in my new living space. I’m definitely not in the city anymore- about ten minutes after arrival a honey-colored grizzly wandered through camp, a first according to my coworkers.

This is my first foray into journaling so bear with me as I acclimate. More to come.
